DRCE Asbl is a non-profit association of a scientific, educational, humanitarian and apolitical nature whose mission is to train, promote and develop research in the field of human and animal health in strict compliance with the standards of ethics and Christian morality.

It was created to concentrate the efforts deployed in the field of research by the CEFA (Centre de Formation et d'Appui Sanitaire), an initiative of CECFOR asbl, associated with the Monkole Hospital Center. By a transfer deed established in 2024, the research activities of the CEFA and the IRB are integrated into those of DRCE, which enjoys total autonomy.

The association aims to promote scientific research in the Democratic Republic of Congo, particularly on sickle cell disease, cardiovascular diseases, oncology, malaria, tropical pathologies, etc.
