Combating Sickle Cell Disease in Africa: Scientific Perspectives and Implementation Practices (virtual) Hosted by NIH and USAID.
Audience: NIH-funded investigators, USAID field staff, government personnel, and community members in Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Webinar Objectives:
● Explore ways to reduce the burden of sickle cell disease in Africa through research
● Understand how DSC affects and interacts with other priority areas of maternal and child health
● Identify opportunities and challenges related to the implementation of SCD interventions with available resources
● Small group session to explore ways to promote dialogue between SCD investigators and policy makers, program implementers and community members.
