About the event
The NGO "Enfant avenir de demain" in collaboration with the West Francilien Network for the Care of Children with Sickle Cell Disease (RoFSED) of the Necker-Enfants malades hospital in Paris organized a training course on ETP at the Antoinette Sassou Nguesso National Center for the Care of Sickle Cell Disease from June 29 to 31, 2024
The training was attended by healthcare providers involved in the fight against sickle cell disease from the two Congos (People's Republic of Congo and Democratic Republic of Congo), including hematologists, sickle cell specialists, general practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, clinical psychologists and independent journalists.
The IRB – CEFA was represented at this very important training with a strong delegation of 5 participants including 2 doctors, 2 nurses and 1 pharmacist.
The main objective of this session was to train participants in the general principles of ETP which have a patient-centered, negotiated, structured and organized approach, integrated into the care process, multi-professional, evaluated, with well-trained professionals. This with the ultimate objective of enabling patients to acquire and maintain the abilities and skills that help them live their lives optimally with the disease.
